In a single week, global and Chinese automotive brands have unveiled new models that combine electric and hybrid technologies, long ranges, smart features, and designs that seem to speak the language of the future. From family electric cars with ranges exceeding 600 kilometers to hybrid pickup trucks capable of covering 1300 kilometers, and from flexible commercial platforms to sporty sedans equipped with smart driving technologies, this roundup provides insight into the key releases that reflect the upcoming competition in global car markets.
Toyota has introduced the bZ3X, a special version of its electric vehicle that features a fully black exterior, including paint and logos, giving it a bolder and more distinctive presence. The new version relies on a 58-kilowatt-hour battery and a front electric motor that generates 201 horsepower, with a driving range of up to 520 kilometers according to the Chinese CLTC standard. The vehicle is available in two versions: the 520 Pro Night Edition and the 520 Pro LiDAR Night Edition, the latter adding an advanced LiDAR sensor mounted above the windshield.
Renault has unveiled the updated version of the Megane E-Tech for 2027, aiming to strengthen its presence in the compact electric car market amid increasing European and Chinese competition. The car features a new front end with a redesigned bumper and a more modern grille, while the most significant change is the adoption of a new LFP battery with an actual usable capacity of 67 kilowatt-hours, raising the official driving range to 499 kilometers according to the WLTP standard. Renault has also improved fast charging capabilities, allowing the car to support charging at a rate of up to 165 kilowatts, enabling the battery to go from 15% to 80% in just about 24 minutes.
Hyundai has revealed the eighth generation of its Elantra sedan, which is sold as Avante in South Korea, during the 2026 Busan Motor Show. The new generation features a distinctly different design inspired by the "art of steel" philosophy, characterized by sharp edges and strong lines. The car's dimensions have increased significantly, with a length of 4.765 meters and a width of 1.855 meters, making it closer in spaciousness to mid-size sedans. The new Elantra also features a 12.9-inch touchscreen infotainment system that can be upgraded to 14.6 inches.
Skoda has officially unveiled its new electric SUV, the Skoda Peaq, which marks the brand's first entry into the large electric SUV segment. The vehicle measures 4.87 meters in length and offers a spacious interior that accommodates seven passengers. It comes with two battery options: 63 kilowatt-hours and 91 kilowatt-hours, the latter being the largest battery in a Skoda electric vehicle, along with three motor options ranging from 150 to 220 kilowatts. The longest-range version can exceed 640 kilometers on a single charge, featuring hidden door handles, a panoramic roof, and a 13.6-inch vertical infotainment screen.
